Updated Competition Entry Forms can be found on the Competition Entry Forms Page

The South Liverpool Photographic Society is a member of the L&CPU. Every year the L&CPU hold its Annual Competition where member clubs of the L&CPU enter this prestigious competition. As a consequence we are now calling for entries for this years competition with the closing date being THURSDAY 9th APRIL 2009. The competition rewards both clubs and individual members. That is by the award of trophies and certificates for the best performing clubs both overall and in individual sections. In addition awards are given for individual members with the best images and also individuals with the best performance overall. For a Clubs entry to score in any section there has to be a entry by 4 different photographers. In the past SLPS has been successful in the Club competition as well as individual members picking up various awards.

As an individual member you are eligible to make the following number of entries in the 7 sections detailed below.

Section 1 Open Mono Prints   2 Entries
Section 2 Open Colour Prints  2 Entries
Section 3 Natural History Prints  2 Entries
Section 4 Open Slides  5 Entries
Section 5 Natural History Slides  3 Entries
Section 6 Open Digital File  2 Entries
Section 7 Natural History Digital File  2 Entries

Entry forms can be downloaded from our website www.slps.co.uk

The successful entries to the competition represent the L&CPU in The PAGB National Annual Competition. The PAGB (The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) is the governing body for photographic clubs to which we are affiliated through the L&CPU. In addition successful images will form part of the L&CPU Annual Exhibition. Lastly succesful images are placed into the various Folios which are circulated to clubs for presentation purposes.

By entering The L&CPU competitions, this makes individual entrants eligible to try for PAGB Distinctions.

I hope this uravels the mysteries of The L&CPU and that you will be encouraged to enter.
