The society’s website is a crucial means of communication and our objective is to ensure that our new website will provide invaluable information about the SLPS which will support our members as well as providing informative articles and links that will be of interest to all photographers. The SLPS (Incorporating LAPA founded 1853) is one of the oldest photographic societies in the North West of England. Founded in 1954, we have a growing membership and share a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise as well as a common interest and enjoyment of photography at all levels. Over the past few years, the SLPS has embraced the new Digital Age and provides a high level of support and guidance to its members as well as through Tony Myers FRPS’s Digital Group. Although many of our members still work using the traditional methods, an increasing number are now working digitally and they are always willing to share their experiences and tips.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly society and are always ready to welcome new members, whether they are young or old, experienced or just interested in photography and want to learn more.
