Today (11th January 2005) I went to visit two well known ex-SLPS members called Muriel and Hamish Kubika who now live Abergele, North Wales. We have remained excellent friends since we met at the club about 16 years ago.
Both of them have won many of our club trophies over the past years and I’m sure they will continue with the same success at Conway camera club of which they are now both members.
Hamish is 82 years old and has a bad year in and out of hospital, but apart from a few pipes running here and there, he is doing fine and really back into the swing of his photography now. Muriel is equally passionate about her work and they always have a box of photos to show as soon as you arrive.
We managed a trip out to LLandudno to try for some photos but the cold winter winds got the better of us, so we soon headed for a nice warm and cosy cafe (another good reason to get out and take pics!) and of course got into a heavy discussion about photography and the qualities of Muriel’s new Epson 2400 colour printer.
After getting back to Abergele, we ended our day with a look at some of each others digital pics on Muriel’s brand new Dell PC.
Muriel and Hamish would both like to be remembered to all their old friends at the South.

Our Website Manager Jane Evans must take the credit for designing the site and for actually making it all happen, she has worked tirelessly to get the site up and running and we cannot thank her enough. However that is not to forget everyone who has contributed items for the site, as without them you would be looking at blank screens.
In addition I must thank Lynn Hilditch who has been working behind the scenes coordinating the work, editing and pre-production.
I would also like to thank those members who have been involved with our previous sites they are Vic Pigula, Mike McDonnell, Noel Greenwood, Geoff Gibbs they have all assisted the SLPS to progress to where we are today with our new website. One last person to thank is Chris Langton from Liverpool Hope University who has been advising Jane Evans on technical issues, his assistance is very much appreciated.
